H I S T O R Y ;

Sebastian is sixteen years old, and an only child, due to his father leaving while he was young. He and his mother grew up in the poorer side of things, she struggled with two jobs to keep them afloat, and he tried to help out wherever he could, when he was old enough TO help. She however insisted he stay in school, no matter what. So, he did.

when he was about eight, he caught sight of a man using Alchemy. He was transfixed, and followed the man, asking if he'd teach him how to do that. The man brushed him off, at first, but Bastian was relentless, and kept following the man whenever he saw him. Eventually, he gave in, or saw that Bastian really did have the potential, and he started teaching him in the ways of Alchemy, after school. In return, Bastian usually helped out with whatever chores or odd-jobs the man needed done.

That man was Matthew Inglesworth, and he became almost a father-like figure in Bastian's eyes, because he didn't have anyone. Over the next several years, he shadowed Matthew, while learning about Alchemy, and that he did in fact possess a gift for it.

In passing, and through eavesdropping on conversations Mat had with other people, he heard about this 'end of the world' prophecy. He didn't really know what it was about, until Sophie showed up at Mat's house.

that was when Mat stopped teaching Bastian, and told him to never come over ever again. This upset Bastian and he's been mad long time since, up until he heard about Mat's death.

He felt bad he didn't have a chance to say goodbye, and that he never found out exactly WHY Mat shut him out so bluntly.

So he started looking into the end of the world business. And came up absolutely nothing. It was like it was a crock, but he knew it wasn't. So he tried looking deeper. Although he didn't really know WHERE to look, he had to try. Mat's old apartment, through his Alchemy books, anything.

Then he got an invitation to the Internet community.

P E R S O N A L I T Y ;

Sebastian is a strong-willed individual, although he's polite towards women he's not familiar with, and he'll respect those older than him unless they give him a reason not to. He loves his mother very much, and will probably instantly become deeply insulted by anyone who insults her. He's also very opinionated about who she brings home, and she's careful about that.

He's got the capability to turn either way, depending on what he learns of Mat. He won't ever, however, accept a position as a Seal in London, out of respect for his teacher. Even if he doesn't ever come to agree with his ideals, he wouldn't flat out be an insult to his memory.
